YOU CANNOT understand the Scriptures apart from the key. Jesus said to the Pharisees, “You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life” (John 5:39-40). You see, the Scriptures apart from Jesus are dead. “The letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Cor. 3:6). Why? Because the Spirit gives you the understanding to God’s Word, which is Jesus.
